Hydrotherapy & Laser Therapy
Hydrotherapy - for weight loss
Hydrotherapy has as many benefits for our overweight patients as it does for our injured patients. Obese/overweight patients will receive safer exercises on their joints due to the lack of weight bearing stress. The resistance will also increase metabolic demands and help to improve muscle strength. This must be used in conjunction with diet!
Hydrotherapy - for orthopedic/pain management
Hydrotherapy has many benefits for a variety of pets. It provides a reduced weight-bearing environment that increases the functional use of a limb without resulting in the discomfort to a painful or post-surgical joint. The increased resistance to a forward movement provided with hydrotherapy can help to improve the strength and mobility due to muscle atrophy. Many dogs that are unwilling to use a painful limb will actually use that limb to help maintain stability and balance in the water due to increased comfort from the buoyancy of the water. Our programs can help reduce your pets pain with the hope of decreasing their need for pain medication.
Laser Therapy - for orthopedic/pain management
Laser therapy treatments hold many benefits to our patients using the body's natural healing ability by stimulating cellular activity. Laser therapy is a fast, safe, and painless way to reduce inflammation and pain. It is a very effective way to treat both chronic and acute conditions.
Laser therapy used in conjunction with hydrotherapy ensures the patient is getting the best quality treatment available for orthopedic injuries, as well as, arthritis.
Our underwater treadmill helps animals build strength and endurance while significantly reducing joint stress, while laser therapy helps decrease the inflammation surrounding the tissues to provide additional, much needed, pain relief.
